Each year our education programme is supporting 15 schools (c. 450 children) across our renewable portfolio. This includes an annual visit and renewables workshop to Tirgwynt for 40 children from Carno Primary School.
The sessions are designed to help children familiarise themselves with the technology and understand the impacts of climate change and how important renewable energy is in modern day society. All teaching follows The National Curriculum and links to subjects including science, maths and geography. Classroom resources such as solar powered toys are also provided to assist learning.
Children from various local schools took part in a name the turbine competition, all entries were at a very high standard and the winning names are now displayed on the turbines.
Winning names: Tilly Troelli, Sky Folt, Ynys y Gwynt, Gwynt-Daf, Egni’r Enyfs, Corbir Harvist, Blaze, Turbo Tastic, Y Gwynt Gwibio Whirler and Gayle.
