The Tirgwynt Wind Farm is a 24 MW site located in Mid Wales. Belltown Power acquired the project in December 2015. The project was in late stage development and Belltown managed it through final design, procurement and construction, and continues to Asset Manage the project, ensuring its efficient operation and optimum returns for the investor.
The Tirgwynt landowners farm the land and have also been integral in the development of the project. They have jointly funded the development of this project with Awel Newydd Cyf and continue to have an active ongoing involvement in its operation.
Following the competitive tender process Belltown Power selected Senvion for the Turbine Supply and local contractor Jones Brothers for the Balance of Plant contracts.
The access route was designed and agreements with the local council and landowners were put in place so that works on the 17 access points could begin in March 2016. All road improvement works were complete and turbine components successfully delivered to site by the end of July 2016. The BOP and Grid Works were completed so that the 12 Senvion turbines could be brought into operation by November 2016 and ahead of schedule.
We are grateful for the hard work of our civil contractor Jones Brothers, the landowners, public and the local authorities for their co-operation throughout the build.
